Background:

Ignisians are a naturally created elemental race that originated on a world called Solairia. They possess the ability to control and manipulate heat to create powerful fire and thermal based attacks. Most Ignisians live in giant city-states while there are some who choose to live in smaller tribe like communities in the wilderness. The Ignisians are known for their warlike society that is not dominated by male or female—even though the female population is far greater than the male population—but by power and strength. When it comes to gender, it doesn’t exist in the eyes of an Ignisian, only the gap between strong and weak matter to them. However, Ignisians also stress that having strong family ties and being intelligent can also be seen as strength and so the Ignisian society is deeper than being just power hungry. Due to their war like nature, the Ignisians are an advanced race that is extremely skilled in the process of metalwork and metallurgy. Their planet is actually rich with an enormous amount of different metals and the Ignisians have been known to create fantastic metal structures and metal objects that most other races could only wish they could produce. Only recently have the Ignisians achieved the ability to use interstellar space travel, but many other races have quickly noticed their brutal, barbaric, yet highly effective ways when it comes to the art of war. It has caused them to gain many enemies, to which the Ignisians have come to enjoy.

General Appearance and Morphology:

The Ignisian people have an outside appearance/shape that is similar to human beings. Their outer flesh, which looks almost like skin is usually a tanned or darker color. They have glowing head hair, but lack eyebrows and androgenic hair. They have slightly larger eyes with black corneas and red pupils that can also glow. They don’t have eyelids. Their fanged teeth are made out of hardened coal-like or diamond-like material. Their nails are rock or diamond like as well. Male Ignisians have the same sexual organs as male humans, while the females have breasts and the same sexual organs as female Humans. However, though they look the same on the outside, the sexual processes of a male and female Ignisians vastly differ on the inside (See: Breeding). They are also taller than humans and slightly more muscular. The average female Ignisian is about 7 feet tall, while the average male Ignisian is about 8 feet tall.

The Ignisians are powered by their 6000 °F heat core, which is a ball of plasma energy contained in a plasmic sack that acts a little like the human heart. The circulatory system runs from the end of the sack holding the core, flowing through the body, before reconnecting to the sack. They are of a high strength material that flows lava-like blood through the body, which carries needed carbon to the cells to function and to keep the core active, so prime heat can be maintained. The heat core—and many other bodily functions--is controlled by the brain which is situated in the head, like a human. The brain is a system of very advanced, metal-like, conductive nerves. The arteries are situated around the matching bone structures of a black, stone/metal hybrid, which gives them not only a great weight, but high durability. The muscles that are fitted around this material are little taffy like strands of lava that function like them. The muscles are able to support the weight of their bones, allowing them to move fast, but not with a lot of agility

Unlike humans, Ignisians breathe CO2 and it’s taken into the body and into a lung like heat sack that takes it out of the air, and expels the O2 that humans breathe, much like a plant. That carbon is taken through the body as a fuel source. For food, coal, wood, and other combustible materials are used to keep the internal fire properly going. A hot, permeable membrane much like skin retains heat and takes ambient heat in much more efficiency than normal human skin, while the hair dumps any excess heat and gives it its luminous glow and a high heat emission. The skin like flesh of an Ignisian only emits heat at 200 °F on the outside, while not nearly as hot as they are on the inside; it still makes anyone not resistance to heat feel very uncomfortable when near. Ignisians also has a rather unique visual system to make up for their lack of eyelids. The heat their body emits already prevents dust from getting into their eyes, and in order to stop excess light from getting into their eyes, Ignisians can make their eyes glow to dump that excess light. When an Ignisian is unconscious, their pupils disappear in order to keep light from getting in. The average lifespan of an Ignisian is about 1,000 years due to their heat core having the ability to sustain itself efficiently for incredibly long time.

Feeding and Diet

Ignisians actually don’t need to eat to survive. Their bodies automatically absorb and convert heat into energy so that they can function, but should an Ignisian want to eat something, they usually take in things that produce a lot of heat when burned or something that is combustible. Just encase an Ignisian wants to eat something that isn’t combustible then they use special glands in their mouth that release an oily like liquid that makes combustion easier. The item that is eaten then travels down the esophagus into a heated, stomach like pouch, which would force the item to combust, forming heat to absorb, until it was fully broken down. The ‘teeth’ of an Ignisian is only used when they eat something that is very tough and can’t be swallowed easily. Young Ignisians have teeth made out of very durable, coal-like, material, while their adult teeth are made out of diamond-like material.
